As teacher librarians we have to turn our
hands to many tasks in the course of our daily work: solving the
mysteries of computer technology, embracing technical innovations as
they appear on our radar screens, creating easy paths for teachers and
students of all abilities to navigate the world wide web and our library shelves,
selecting new resources for our collections, discovering the most
efficient and effective ways of storing and accessing the wide range of
print and digital resources we manage in our collections and keeping
abreast of the copyright minefield that surrounds both print and
digital media.
What TL does not have a toolkit handy to fix those shelves, pin down that wayward cable or "make adjustments" to the innards of a CPU! MANTLE 2008 will help us to increase our "DO IT YOURSELF" expertise so that we can continue to create libraries that are all our own work. |
